Composite steel floor deck & slab

Composite steel floor decking includes a specific steel deck profile that serves as a mold for constructing a structural concrete slab, with the steel deck providing moment reinforcement. This steel deck incorporates embossments, interlocking profile geometry, or other mechanisms for horizontal shear resistance, creating a mechanical bond between the steel deck and concrete. This bond allows the slab to withstand vertical and diaphragm shear loads together. Before achieving composite action, the steel deck acts as a form deck and work platform.
